Frequently Asked Questions

I have thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to speak with the thousands of people that I have over the last few months. So many personal stories have been shared, and every conversation only inspires me more and more.

Below are some questions I received from people in the community, and I'd like to take this opportunity to share them and offer my answers.

1. Won't voting Independent just act as a spoiler?

While I was only asked this question a small handful of times, I know that it can give pause for some who are deciding whether to support my candidacy. I understand the concern, but I don't accept the premise. The real spoiler is a system that tells voters they must choose between two options they don't believe in. The expression of having to choose "between the lesser of two evils" exists specifically because of systems that only offer two choices.

I'm running because people deserve a real choice. If enough voters agree, an Independent can win. And the only way that ever happens is if people stop being told their vote doesn't count. People should leave the voting booth feeling confident and proud of who they selected, rather than underwhelmed from having to choose from the same two old platforms with new names attached every few years.

2. Why run as an Independent instead of joining a major party?

My loyalty is to people—not a party. I don't believe good ideas belong to one side, and I don't believe voters should be filtered through partisan priorities before they're heard.

Running as an Independent allows me to listen first, think critically, and vote based on what's right, not what's expected.

3. What do you actually stand for?

I stand for practical solutions, honest government, and accountability.

That means:

  • Policies that help families and workers;

  • Fiscal responsibility without ideology;

  • Respect for personal freedoms;

  • And a willingness to work with anyone acting in good faith.

You'll always know why I take a position and who it benefits.

4. How would you get anything done without a party behind you?

By building coalitions around issues instead of party labels. Most legislation already requires cooperation. Being Independent simply means I'm not bound by party leadership or political games.

My leverage comes from representing voters—not donors or party operatives. When it comes time for me to take a position on a vote, I will be influenced by information I receive directly from my community, rather than marching orders from a national party office.

5. Is this campaign realistic?

Yes. Independent candidates win when they earn trust, work hard, and show up consistently. This campaign is built on community presence, direct voter contact, and a message that resonates across political lines.

6. Who are you accountable to?

The people of this district. Period.

I won't answer to party bosses, out-of-touch national committees, or ideological tests. My job is to represent you.

7. What makes you different from other candidates?

I'm not running to climb a political ladder. I'm running to do the job thoughtfully, transparently, and with respect for people who may disagree with me.

You don't have to agree with me on everything to trust that I'll listen, explain my decisions, and put people first. I earned my place on the ballot the hard way—by putting in the time, walking the miles, and having the conversations—while virtually every other candidate simply writes a $100 check and skips the work.

8. What happens if you don't win?

Win or lose, this campaign already matters.

I'm not running just to hold a title. I'm running to challenge the idea that voters should accept a system that doesn't reflect them—a system that too often discourages independent and alternative choices. Thousands of conversations, new relationships, and honest discussions don't disappear on Election Day.

If I don't win, I'll still be here doing what I've always done. I'll continue to show up, listen, and advocate for practical solutions and accountability in our community. This campaign is about proving that Independent voices belong in our political process, and that doesn't end with one election.

Real change doesn't happen overnight. It happens when people speak up, demand better, and refuse to disengage. This campaign is part of that longer effort—and I'm committed to it.
