About Me and
Why I'm Running

Hi, I'm Philippe Cicchini—don't worry, I have you covered: it's pronounced fee-LEEP chee-KEE-nee. I appreciate you being here.

"Why run as an Independent?"

This is the question I've been asked most often since announcing my candidacy in the spring of 2025.

For nearly two decades, I carried a quiet belief that I might one day run for public office, but the calling never came. That changed in February 2025, when the current federal administration laid off tens of thousands of working Americans and canceled countless government contracts, including my own contract with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

My work at the CFPB focused on holding banks and financial technology companies accountable for compliance with laws designed to protect consumers from fraud, identity theft, and other harmful practices. When that work ended abruptly—work dedicated entirely to protecting people I would never meet—it became clear that something was deeply wrong.

I saw firsthand how decisions made far away from our communities, by people insulated from their consequences, could instantly dismantle critical consumer protections and blindside families.

At that moment, I had a choice: move on quietly, or step forward and challenge a system that allows that kind of damage to occur without accountability.

I chose to act.

I'm running as an Independent because I believe the current two-party system, as it functions today, too often prioritizes party loyalty over people. I want to spend my time representing the collective interests of my constituents—not navigating partisan fights, following party scripts, or waiting for permission to lead. When I speak, my words are my own.

I'm a husband, father, son, attorney, consumer advocate, volunteer, small business owner, dog owner, former radio DJ, PTO dad, and engaged member of this community. I believe good policy should be driven by facts, evidence, and a genuine commitment to solving problems—not ideology or political allegiance.

I'm running to represent everyone in our district—not just the people most likely to clap.

For me, service has never been about adding

a line to my résumé—it's been about adding something real to the community.
